How WithSecure Leads with European Values and Innovation

This year has been one for the books at WithSecure. As the newly-appointed CEO since summer, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the company’s incredible journey up close. Meeting many partners and customers across the globe has been truly inspiring.

But it’s not just me who’s been on the move; WithSecure has been too. After laying the foundation stone in fall 2023, we finally settled into our stunning new carbon-neutral headquarters in Wood City. More than just a building, it’s a statement of our commitment to sustainability and innovation. Walking through its halls, I’m reminded of what makes WithSecure special—our ability to innovate for both today and tomorrow.

For us, 2024 has been a year of innovation. We launched WithSecure Elements™ Exposure Management, enabling businesses to proactively protect themselves with unparalleled visibility. We also introduced Luminen™, an AI-powered assistant that simplifies threat analysis with human-readable insights and automated reports. Tools like these enhance detection and response capabilities, helping mid-market organizations bridge resource gaps with efficiency. Another milestone was Identity Protection, underlining our focus on delivering tailored, cutting-edge solutions.

These advancements align with our mission to fix the broken cyber security playbook of mid-market organizations. Traditional manual, reactive approaches leave these companies exposed to threats, wasted time, and limited resources. Our approach is different: we bring the right security outcomes for the overwhelmed mid-market in a European Way. WithSecure Elements™ balances effectiveness with efficiency, delivering outcomes such as resilience, compliance, and operational efficiency keeping midmarket customers ahead of adversaries. 

We also took a bold step in rethinking how we communicate our work and excellence—opening the Museum of Malware Art. Yes, you read that right. It’s a showcase of the invisible work we do, turned into tangible art, documenting our deep expertise in cyber security that spans nearly four decades. It’s proof that while we may be serious about security, we’re not afraid to get creative in how we tell our story.

Recognition has followed us this year as well as our commitment to excellence has been recognized by industry leaders. Among other accolades, we were identified as one of 15 global vendors in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection Platforms, highlighting our ability to execute and completeness of vision. In the 2024 MITRE ATT&CK® Evaluations, our Endpoint Detection and Response solution set new standards for detection-to-alert ratios, reinforcing our position as a European mid-market leader in cyber security. We also proudly achieved certification for "Cybersecurity Made in Europe" by ECSO, reinforcing that our solutions are designed, created, and delivered from this continent. We’ve truly established ourselves as the flagship of European cyber security.

Reflecting on the year, what stands out most isn’t just the milestones we’ve achieved but the people who’ve made it all possible. Our teams, partners, and customers have shown incredible dedication —especially when challenges arose.

As we move into 2025, I’m more excited than ever about what lies ahead. The world of cyber security is evolving rapidly, and together, we’ll continue to be at the forefront, securing progress and shaping the future.
